Iran Sudden Death Warning Trump: Tehran Media Issues Threat After Ally’s Demise

Iranian newspapers are celebrating the death of Donald Trump’s close ally Lindsey Graham, with Hamshahri going so far as to warn that the US President and other American officials could meet a “sudden death”.

According to the publication, Hamshahri splashed a front page featuring an illustration of President Donald Trump kneeling on one knee beside a picture of Lindsey Graham, alongside US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and other senior US and Israeli officials, under the headline ‘Get ready for sudden death’ following the US senator’s death.

Concurrently, the Iranian newspaper Vatan-e Emrooz splashed Graham’s death across its July 13 front page with the headline ‘Death of the merchant of death’.


Iran says will stop complying with deal if US does not honour commitments

Iran on Monday said it would no longer abide by the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States if Washington failed to uphold its commitments to end the war.

“Each time that the other party has failed to meet its obligations, we did not uphold ours… We will continue to act in this manner,” foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei told a press conference in Tehran, following the latest bout of hostilities between the foes.


Iran says only way to reopen Strait is to ‘end US military interference’

The Iranian Armed Forces on Monday said the only way to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to vessel traffic is to end US military interference in the strait and “respect the sovereignty of nations over their own coastal waters”.


Dollar climbs on renewed Middle East attacks, Hormuz closure

The dollar rose against most of its peers as a renewal of hostilities in the Middle East fanned inflation fears and raised prospects for interest rate hikes among global central banks.

Against Japan’s currency, the dollar was up 0.2 per cent at 162.075 yen. The euro weakened 0.1 per cent to $1.1397 while the British pound slipped 0.2 per cent to $1.3374.

The Australian dollar was down 0.3 per cent at $0.6928 while its kiwi counterpart eased 0.1 per cent to $0.5757. US and Iranian forces exchanged heavy missile and drone assaults at the weekend, with Tehran targeting US facilities in states across the Gulf on Sunday and saying it had again closed the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping route.
