More direct services and extended operating hours will give commuters earlier departures from Ras Al Khaimah and late-night options from Dubai under the revised timetable
Residents travelling between Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai will have more public transport options from Monday, with daily bus services increasing to 19 in each direction under a revised timetable introduced by the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority.
The new schedule, which takes effect on August 24, extends the operating hours and adds more direct services between the two emirates, giving commuters earlier departures from Ras Al Khaimah and late-night options for the return journey from Dubai.
The first bus from Ras Al Khaimah will depart at 5am, while the final service from Dubai will leave at 11.30pm with six direct buses to Dubai.
From Ras Al Khaimah, direct services will depart at 5am, 6am, 7am and 8am, followed by services operating via Sharjah from 9am to 3pm.
Additional direct departures will operate at 3.30pm and 5.30pm. Services via Sharjah will also run at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm, while the final 9pm service will travel via Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah.
For passengers travelling from Dubai, buses will operate hourly via Umm Al Quwain from 7.30am to 5.30pm. Direct services will then depart at 6pm and 8pm, with additional services via Umm Al Quwain at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm and 11.30pm.
The timetable comes as Ras Al Khaimah continues to expand its public transport network and improve connections between residential areas, key destinations and neighbouring emirates.
Earlier this year, the authority relaunched the Purple Route between Al Nakheel and Manar Mall, adding 14 kilometres of coverage and nine stops serving major healthcare, education, government and commercial destinations.
The upgraded route, which began operating on June 3, has 12 daily trips and connects Al Nakheel with destinations including Obaida Allah Hospital, American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Hospital and Manar Mall.
The expansion forms part of efforts to make public transport a more accessible and convenient option for residents and visitors while supporting sustainable mobility across the emirate.
