Abu Dhabi, 28 August, 2023: The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2023 Presented by ADQ will make a welcome return to Abu Dhabi in October, with a series of basketball-themed activities and initiatives culminating in the Dallas Mavericks taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves at Etihad Arena in a pair of pre-season exhibitions. The Games promise to bring together NBA fans from across the region once again, playing a significant role in the emirate’s Vision 2030 goals to encompass economic diversification, promote sustainable practices, and foster social wellbeing.
Taking place this year on 5 and 7 October, the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2023 Presented by ADQ is part of a multiyear collaboration between the NBA and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) which empowers Abu Dhabi and its diverse communities.

A priority focus is on young people, and in January, the NBA and DCT Abu Dhabi launched an expanded second season of the Jr. NBA Abu Dhabi League, featuring boys’ and girls’ leagues each composed of 450 players ages 11-14 from schools across the UAE capital.
