That’s right, one of the world’s biggest malls is somehow getting even bigger in just two weeks.
Dubai Mall, the world’s most popular mall, is going to add an entire new department at the beginning of Ramadan.
There will be 65 new shops and restaurants packed into a space beside Dubai Mall Ice Rink and Level Shoes.
Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, announced the plans on social media on Thursday February 13.
The announcement stopped short of saying which brands we can expect to see at the new department so we face a wait to find out what exactly we’ll see in the section.
On the online Dubai Mall map, there is currently a massive cluster of retail spaces with little detail beyond “opening soon” on the ground floor near Level Shoes.

The huge space will be located between Level Shoes and watch brand Blancpain.
Last year a massive Dhs1.5 billion expansion of Dubai Mall was announced which will introduce another 240 luxury retail and dining options. It’s unclear at this time whether or not the new 2025 department is part of the plans announced last year.
Dubai Mall is currently home to more than 1,200 retail spaces, including two anchor department stores in Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s, and more than 200 food and beverage outlets.
Earlier this year, mall bosses revealed that it had broken its own attendance record.
More than 111 million visitors arrived through the mall’s doors in 2024 which easily sees it surpass its previous record of 105 million visitors from the previous year.
It’s the second successive year that Dubai Mall has broken past the 100 million mark with figures increasing significantly since the 88 million that passed through in 2022.
