World Environment Day: TIER Encourages Residents to Switch to Sustainable Transport Methods

TIER Mobility, the world’s leading micro-mobility provider, celebrates World Environment Day (Sunday, 5th of June) with special offers to encourage residents and tourists to become increasingly conscious of the environment around them, while highlighting the benefits of micro-mobility.
In January 2020, TIER became the first micro-mobility company to be fully climate-neutral, as sustainability is a key driver for TIER’s mission to change mobility for good. The provider ensures it goes above and beyond to reduce emissions, positively impact the environment, and provide the UAE with access to reliable sources and safe, environmentally-friendly, and affordable transport methods. Since its launch in Dubai under RTA’s pilot phase in October 2020, TIER e-scooters and e-bikes have travelled more than 1.3 million kilometres and have helped save more than 18,500 kg of CO2.
The recent expansion by RTA has allowed TIER to provide its e-scooters across 10 districts in Dubai, in high-demand areas including; Al Khawaneej, Business Bay, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Marina, Greens, Jumeirah Beach Cycle Track, and Palm Jumeirah. This recent expansion further allows residents living across Dubai to utilise sustainable transport efficiently, further reducing carbon emissions. New riders can use the code ‘TIERDXB,’ which will provide one free ride and for riders that would like to explore the city for the day, the ‘Go All Day’ pass for AED 45 can be purchased, which includes unlimited rides for 24 hours.
TIER has witnessed a significant increase in demand for micro-mobility, entering the market as the first provider to use swappable battery technology. Noteworthy milestones have been accomplished for the micro-mobility provider, in the summer of 2021, TIER announced its partnership with the e-commerce platform, Noon.com, where all Noon VIP customers were given free minutes to use TIER, encouraging customers to switch to a sustainable method of transportation. This was only the beginning, as the provider then partnered with Talabat, the region’s leading online food and e-commerce delivery platform, becoming the first company to launch e-scooter delivery at EXPO 2020. The e-scooters were provided for staff members to get around the EXPO 2020 site to deliver food and beverage orders with an environmentally-friendly and efficient method of transportation. TIER continues to expand its offerings in the UAE, establishing itself as the leading micro-mobility provider in the region.
