UAE weather: Red alert issued for fog; partly cloudy skies expected

Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are likely to witness a high of 33°C with a low of 19°C

A red alert has been issued for fog with a drop in horizontal visibility till 9.30 am on Friday, March 28. The visibility may drop even further at times over internal and coastal areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Abu Dhabi Police have alerted motorists to exercise caution on the road, and reduced speed limits to 80kmph on some roads. The weather is likely to be fair but there could be partly cloudy skies at times, the NCM said in its forecast.

There are chances of conditions getting humid by night and Saturday morning with a probability of fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal areas, especially westward.

There will be light to moderate southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds, with a speed of 10kmph and 20kmph, reaching 30kmph

The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are likely to witness a high of 33°C with a low of 19°C. Sharjah will see a high of 31°C and a low of 16°C.

The NCM had earlier said that country is experiencing frequent weather shifts as it transitions from winter to spring and there will be rapid weather changes, instability expected until May.

The UAE seasonal travel and tourism sector is getting longer as it benefits from the extended pleasant weather. Peak inbound seasonal travel for tourism used to be until February-March and now it has extended till April because the weather is good, industry experts have said.
