Getting around the city is about to get even easier.
The RTA has announced plans to launch four new Dubai bus routes which will improve links to some of the city’s busiest Metro stations.
Coming into force on Friday August 30, the four routes will shorten journey times for commuters and visitors across the city.
The old Route 31 will now be replaced by two new routes F39 and F40.
The F39 will run from the Etisalat Bus Station to Oud Al Muteena Roundabout Bus Stop and back, and will run every 30 minutes. And the F40 will also operate from Etisalat Bus Station every half an hour but will run to and from Mirdif, Street 78. This will allow for more public transport links to Etisalat Metro Station.
Also being replaced is the F56 with the new F58 and F59. Route F58 runs northward from Al Khail Bus Station to Dubai Internet City and back every 30 minutes. And the F59 will run north from Dubai Internet City to Dubai Knowledge Village and back every 30 minutes.
The existing Route 21 will now be split into two routes with one being 21A and the other, unsurprisingly, now called 21B.
The 21A starts from Al Quoz Clinical Pathology Services Bus Stop 1 and runs to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station. And the 21B will run the opposite way. This has been done to make things easier for passengers to figure out their exact route and plan journeys better.
If you take the intercity Route E700 to Fujairah then you’ll now need to note that journeys will start from Etisalat Bus Station instead of Union Bus Station.
In Dubai, Route 61D will be merged with Route 66 as will Route 95 be merged with Route 95A, meaning that we will just have Route 95A from Friday onwards.
This change will allow users of Route 95 to Route X92. The path of Route 95A will start from Veneto, Jebel Ali Waterfront to Parco Hypermarket to cover the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
The path for Route 6 will now be shortened to run from Oud Metha Metro Station to Dubai Healthcare City while Route 99 will now be modified to cover JAFZA One and Route F31 will be adjusted to include new stops in The Greens.
New bus stops will also be added in Al Furjan for Route F45 and Route F54 will remove the JAFZA One stop from its route.
The RTA has also announced enhancements to ensure timely arrivals for 35 bus routes including 6, 20B, 26, 36A, 36B, 50, 66, 83, 88, 95A, 96, 99, 320, C01, C09, C10, F03, F05, F07, F10, F18, F23, F23A, F24, F31, F45, F46, F47, F49, F53, F54, SM1, X02, X25, and X92.
