Apple – Taking the Wraps off its Newest Phones, Introducing the iPhone 15 Series

The long-awaited iPhone 15 has arrived. Apple hosted its inaugural iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus event at the company’s Wonderlust event in the California city of Cupertino.

Apple has launched iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, sporting 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively, similar to their predecessors.

The higher-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, priced at $999 and $1,199, respectively, will sport an “action button” in place of the mute switch that can be customized for a variety of functions. They will use titanium instead of stainless steel for the sidebars.

Apple has also switched to the USB-C charging standard from the current Lightning port, in accordance with a European law, on the new iPhones and AirPods Pro. The USB-C connectivity will make it easier for professionals to transfer high-quality video from the iPhone directly onto their hard drives.

The latest models of the iPhone family are equipped with 48 megapixels of primary camera resolution, with the Pro Max model boasting 5x optical zoom capabilities and 3x telephoto. Users can record “spatial” or “three-dimensional” videos that can be viewed on the accompanying Vision Pro headset, and the satellite connectivity of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus can be used to call for roadside assistance services, a feature that has been launched in the US in collaboration with the American Automobile Association.

The company announced that the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus will be equipped with the A16 bionic processor, while the A17 pro chip will be included in the iPhone 15 pro and the Pro max models. The company further stated that the hardware included in the Pro line of devices is suitable for advanced mobile gaming.

The new Pros have thinner bezels for slightly more glass on the front screen — which are still 6.1 inches for the iPhone 15 Pro and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

As for colors, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max come in four metallic hues: traditional black and white titanium, as well as a blue titanium and a “natural” titanium with a gray tone.

Preorders for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max start on Friday, and the phones will go on sale in Apple Stores and online next Friday, Sept. 22.
