Santoni SS22 women’s collection affirms a solid and conscious idea of femininity, underlining the values that characterize the unique spirit of the Maison
In the Santoni atelier, immersed in the shades of the Marche hills, sandals, pumps, slingbacks, and loafers with unmistakable colours take life, expressions of a contemporary and sophisticated daily wear. The material is shaped with mastery and subtlety, giving life to creations of authentic beauty, which tell of heritage and modernity.
Colour is the absolute protagonist. It becomes tangible through materials and gives consistency to shapes. It is pictorial, dense, and it is emphasized through the vivid and unmistakable shades inspired by Maison’s territory: Astrale, Arancio Santoni, Lavanda, Nudo, Clorofilla, Urbino chromatically define Santoni’s proposal for Spring Summer 2022. The iconic elements inspired from the male world, such as the fringe and the double buckle, become sophisticated in their most feminine interpretation.
Elegant tapered silhouettes alternate with modern square toes and bolder volumes, united in an artistic play of nuances. The softness of nappa and suede creates volumes and knots on pumps, mules, and flats. The penny loafer becomes ironic, turning into a sabot and a colorful clog, and plays with heights, moving from the leather sole to the chunky heel and the rock sole. The queen is, once again, the Double Buckle: a sign of elegance and character; it permeates the entire proposal with sophistication and a touch of irony, finding its highest expression in the cut-out sandal.
The collection is presented during Milan Fashion Week in an exceptional location: the courtyard of Palazzo Crespi, a magnificent 17th century residence redesigned by Portaluppi, is transformed for the occasion into “Il Giardino Segreto” (The Secret Garden), an evocative journey of discovery into the world of Santoni. The installations created in the corners of the garden tell the brand through its unique codes and gradually reveal the women’s collection, all accompanied by a sound design that recalls sounds and colors of nature, creating a pleasant and immersive perceptive fabric.
