Versatility & Portability: The BenQ EH600 is purely built for businesses. Powered by a built-in Android computer, the EH600 offers both – versatility and portability, so you can install it permanently in a conference, class or meeting room, or move it from one room to the other for impromptu presentations – be it spreadsheets, elaborate slideshows, videos, or for browsing websites during presentations.

Technical Specs: The EH600 is a Full HD projector.  It uses DLP or Data Light Processing technology to offer a 1920-by-1080 resolution at a 16:9 aspect ratio. Couple that with a brightness of 3500 lumens, and what you get is crisp, top notch image quality – irrespective of where it’s set up. The EH600 is also ecofriendly; it uses a SmartEco mode to deliver an extended lamp life of 15,000 hours, thereby reducing not just energy consumption, but also offers cost efficiency. It comes with 2GB of built-in RAM and 16GB of ROM.

Set up: The EH600 is a wireless projector, so once plugged into a power outlet, all you’ll need to do use the wireless dongle (provided) into the designated slot and connect wirelessly from a laptop or mobile device. The set-up wizard takes you through the entire process.  It’s as simple as opening the Google Chrome browser and selecting ‘cast’.  It’s also possible to broadcast your screen, and play media files, PDFs or images from a USB stick.

Ease of use: The EH600 is compatible with PC, Mac/iOS and Android platforms and so you don’t need additional connectors or cables. You simply connect your devices wirelessly, use the Launcher page, and pick the source of your projection. In today’s business environment, it’s really convenient that the EH600 projects content from a variety of sources, including smartphones, tablets and laptops, regardless of the operating system.

Build and Appearance: Strongly built and small and light enough to be portable. It doesn’t look awkward even when placed in the center of the table.

Performance:  We tested the EH600 on two surfaces -a plain wall, and an 80-inch projector screen. The EH600 delivers a good image quality if projected from less that 11-12 feet, beyond which images or videos can appear washed out. The project is, however, specified to project images from 70 to 300 inches diagonal. It’s 1.49-to-1.64 throw ratio lens fills an 80-inch screen from about 8.75 feet away.

We tested the project for conference calls using the in0business applications. With the Blizz online application we were able to share screens with a number of our team members, while the TeamViewer application made it simpler to transition between members.  We also used it to view documents, browse the web using the FireFox app, and also watch videos.

The remote control is especially handy; it works as a lazer pointer, and you can use it to adjust volume, brightness, contrast, picture mode, activate Launch, and change source of projection.

Talking about picture modes, you get seven factory presets: Bright, Presentation, Infographic, Video, sRGB Picture Mode, and User 1-2 Picture Mode. We found the overall colour precision to be good with a fairly reasonable image contrast. Having said that, the EH600 has a dynamic contrast ratio of 6000:1 with fair ‘black levels’ to allow for a good viewing experience.

Price & Availability: The BenQ EH600 is prices at AED3,250 and is available at leading electronics retailers as well as on amazon.

The Verdict: We give the EH600 a 4 out of 5 for its ease of use, portability, and versatility.
