Showcasing the Role of the Enterprise Command and Control Centre to a Delegation from Dubai Airports
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) received a visiting delegation from the Dubai Airports at the Enterprise Command and Control Centre (EC3) of the RTA. The visit aimed to familiarise with the centre’s role in managing the transportation system and traffic flow during Dubai’s hosting of major global events. They were also acquainted with the EC3 tasks in supporting centralised decision-making for various transportation modes and assisting in strategic transportation planning while integrating with RTA’s main transportation modes and control centres.
During the visit, the delegation learned about the purpose of establishing the EC3 and its advanced systems which monitor the transportation and traffic network and support the integration of various transportation modes. The delegation was also introduced to the role of the facility in supporting RTA’s efforts to transform Dubai into the world’s smartest city in transportation highlighted by the gold and silver control rooms, the central control room, the shared room for handling rainwater accumulation, and the media centre among others.
This visit serves RTA’s continuous efforts to exchange expertise and knowledge on transportation and traffic management with our partners. Airports in Dubai are vital sites due to the high volume of arriving and departing passengers, amounting to millions annually, which reflects Dubai’s global standing as a hub for finance and business and a major attraction for tourists.
“The visit included a presentation of the EC3’s capabilities and the use of the latest technologies in big data analysis and information management to support decision-making. The delegation also visited the shared room for handling rainwater accumulation, which is managed in collaboration with strategic partners to cope proactively with rainfall and disseminate awareness and warning messages to road users”
RTA commended the visit of the Dubai Airports delegation to the EC3, highlighting its role in fostering new avenues of cooperation and enhancing service efficiency, which contributes to ensuring seamless transportation for both visitors and residents in Dubai while prioritising safety and security for everyone in the emirate.
