Eid Al Adha, private-sector workers will have a six-day holiday. According to the announcement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, employees will be off from Tuesday, June 27, to Friday, June 30. Work will resume on Monday, July 03.
The public sector’s holiday schedule was released earlier this month.
The holiday of the sacrifice, known as Eid Al Adha, was set for June 28 by Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The Hajj pilgrimage is done during the Islamic month of Dhu Al Hijja, which begins with the moon sighting. Eid Al Adha follows on the 10th day of the month.
The first day of Eid Al Adha is observed by Muslims worldwide with an animal sacrifice. This action honors the Prophet Ibrahim’s readiness to offer his son as a sacrifice to God. Beginning on June 26, the hajj season will welcome more than two million pilgrims.
