UAE Astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi is Set to Return to Earth on September 3, 2023

On September 2, Astronaut al-Neyadi will leave the International Space Station, where he has been working since March 3, to begin a 24-hour voyage back to Earth.

After a record-breaking six-month trip in space, Emirati Astronaut Sheikh Sultan Al Neyadi is set to return to Earth. The longest Arab space mission to date.

With this, the 42-year-old national of the United Arab Emirates will have completed the first spacewalk in the history of the world and welcomed Saudi cosmonauts Ali al-Karni (the first Arab woman to be sent into space) and Rayyanah al-Barnawi (the first Arab female to be sent into orbit) aboard the International Space station (ISS).

The Emirati astronaut, who has achieved a number of milestones during his mission and has conducted essential experiments to improve life on Earth, is scheduled to return to space aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule on Sunday, with the launch taking place from Florida, United States, and the capsule is expected to land off the coast of the United States.

“Sultan and Crew-6 are now preparing to return to Earth and we are ready to welcome them back,” Salem al-Marri, director general of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, which heads the UAE’s astronaut program, posted on Twitter.
