The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced the implementation of Variable Road Toll Pricing (Salik) and Variable Parking Tariff Policies, effective from late January 2025. The new system aims to optimize traffic flow within the city. Key features include toll-free periods between 1am and 6am, peak-hour tolls of Dh6, and off-peak tolls of Dh4.

However, a new Variable Parking Tariff Policy is also set to take effect by the end of March 2025. The policy aims to optimize parking availability and manage traffic congestion during peak hours.

Under the new policy, parking fees will be based on time and location. Premium parking spaces will cost Dh6 per hour, while standard public parking spaces will be charged Dh4 per hour during peak hours (8am-10am and 4pm-8pm). Off-peak hours (10am-4pm and 8pm-10pm) will see no change in parking fees. Nighttime parking (10pm-8am) and all-day Sunday parking will remain free.

If you’re planning to attend a major event at the Dubai World Trade Centre starting next year, stay prepared to pay a parking fee. A new Congestion Pricing Policy will charge Dh25 per hour for public paid parking spaces in the area.
