The additional exit is part of a series of traffic enhancements on the road near the Al-Faqa area
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) opened an additional exit on Dubai-Al Ain Road towards Al Ain at Exit 58, to reduce travel time for vehicles heading towards both Al Ain City and Dubai.
The new exit is part of a series of traffic enhancements on Dubai-Al Ain Road near the Al-Faqa area. It is also in response to the increasing traffic flow in the area, RTA said on Friday.
The exit on Dubai-Al Ain Road is headed towards Al Ain at Exit 58, leading to the U-turn tunnel before the Al-Faqa area.
“RTA continues to implement traffic enhancements to achieve the highest standards of efficiency on Dubai’s roads. By adopting rapid and innovative traffic solutions, we meet community aspirations, support Dubai’s future vision, and reinforce its position as a global leader in infrastructure and sustainable transport,” noted Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at RTA.
He added: “Other traffic solutions included the construction of a 430-metre deceleration lane on Dubai-Al Ain Road (towards Al Ain) to facilitate smoother access to Exit 58. A new roundabout was also built to improve entry and exit from the existing tunnel and enhance U-turn movements on the road.
“Additionally, a 600-metre acceleration lane was introduced for vehicles exiting towards Al Ain, ensuring a seamless merge into the main traffic flow. These enhancements contribute to improved traffic safety and reduce accident risks,” he noted.
