Initially planned for theatrical release, the $100 million budget film ‘Artemis Fowl’ will now be available to watch for the very first time in the comfort of your own home as it streams on Disney+ globally, and exclusively with OSN for movie lovers across the Middle East.
Based on the beloved book series by Eoin Colfer, which sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, Disney’s ‘Artemis Fowl’ is a fantastical, spellbinding adventure that follows the journey of 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he desperately tries to save his father who has been kidnapped. In order to pay his ransom, Artemis must infiltrate an ancient, underground civilization — the amazingly advanced world of fairies — and bring the kidnapper the Aculos, the fairies’ most powerful and coveted magical device. To locate the elusive object, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan — so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies.
Directed by Kenneth Branagh, ‘Artemis Fowl’ stars Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Nonzo Anozie, with Colin Farrell and Oscar winner Judi Dench. Kenneth Branagh, p.g.a. and Judy Hofflund, p.g.a. are producing with Matthew Jenkins and Angus More Gordon serving as executive producers. Conor McPherson and Hamish McColl wrote the screenplay.

The journey of ‘Artemis Fowl’ from the mind of author Eoin Colfer to the page, and now to your homes, began with a simple photograph. Colfer came up with the idea when he saw a picture of my little brother Donal wearing a full suit ready for his first communion. Colfer recalls thinking he looked like a 10-year-old Bond villain and so, the character was born.
