The Australian Pavilion celebrates ONE MILLION visitors!
If you’ve ventured past the Australian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, there’s seemingly always a celebration in process. This is largely due to the non-stop daily entertainment and cultural performances on the forecourt stage, the tempting delicious Aussie treats available from the three onsite restaurants and the fun and engaging antics of pavilion mascots Wattle and Jali. Today the celebrations stepped up a level as they welcomed the one millionth visitor to the pavilion.
Commissioner General of the Australian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Mr Justin McGowan was on hand to congratulate the lucky family with an armful of gifts and a guided tour of the pavilion. Sanita Johnson was on a high from celebrating their 8-year anniversary of calling the UAE home and decided to make the first family trip to Expo to commemorate the day. Having never visited Expo before, they picked the Australia Pavilion as their first stop having heard countless positive reviews. “We’ve delayed coming to Expo until now, so this is just a wonderful way to start our journey” said Sanita.
The Australian Pavilion has been drawing large crowds and positive reviews since the start of Expo. Located in the Mobility District, the pavilion offers an immersive and exciting visitor experience. Inside the pavilion, visitors are guided through three immersive exhibition spaces designed to relay the story of Australia’s vibrant and longlived culture. Justin McGowan, said: “It’s an incredible achievement to record one million visitors. Expo 2020 Dubai has given us the opportunity to showcase the best of Australia and we’re thrilled that the Australian Pavilion is a preferred destination and key attraction at Expo 2020.
