The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate, will be showcasing during its participation in Arab Health 2024 a series of key projects and initiatives aimed at further strengthening the healthcare system in the emirate and cementing its position as a leading healthcare destination globally.
Through its participation, the Department looks forward to highlighting the importance of collaboration to further enhance global healthcare systems and ensure the efficiency of healthcare services to all members of the community.
DoH’s participation will exhibit several genomic projects which contribute to the goals of the National Genome Strategy which aim to support in establishing a comprehensive and sustainable genetic system.
The efforts seek to achieve qualitative transformation in healthcare services and help maintain the health and safety of community members through the analysis of genetic data and the development of effective treatment and preventive plans.
Additionally, visitors will have the chance to learn more about the Department’s new initiatives including the ‘Smart Ambulance’, and ‘Unified Medical Operations Command’ system for healthcare emergency management, among other projects.
On this occasion, Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of DoH, said, “Arab Health is a prominent platform and valuable opportunity to showcase DoH and ADPHC’s key projects and initiatives. The event enables cooperation with current and future partners, on both local and global levels, while exploring new areas of collaboration. These efforts further cement Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for healthcare and reinforce the Emirate’s role in combatting common global challenges while unifying efforts to create a positive impact on global healthcare sectors.”
Al Ghaithi added, “This year, we look forward to forging new collaborations with partners focused on financing research and development in healthcare and life sciences, in addition to developing health data systems, along with other pivotal topics. In Abu Dhabi, we believe in the power of collaborative work to enhance the global healthcare sector and address global challenges. The transfer of knowledge and experiences contributes to the advancement of healthcare systems, enabling them to adapt to current and future challenges. Furthermore, similar platforms allow the establishment of health sectors that are flexible and sustainable in their operations, positively impacting the accessibility and quality of services and, consequently, the health and well-being of communities worldwide.”
During DoH’s participation, a series of panel discussions will be hosted, addressing several healthcare topics including, the future of precision medicine in light of genomics, the integration of innovations and artificial intelligence in healthcare, the importance of mental health, and obesity epidemic and its impact on communities.
Arab Health is the largest medical exhibition in the Middle East and is taking place this year at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 29th January to 1st February 2023.
