Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, arrived in the UAE on an official visit on Friday, his first stop in a 5-nation tour.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was at the forefront of those who received him upon his arrival in the country.
Modi was given an official reception ceremony, during which the national anthems of both the UAE and India were played, while a guard of honour stood in line to salute the visiting prime minister.
The plane carrying the Indian Prime Minister was escorted by a squadron of Emirati military aircraft as it entered the country’s airspace. The squadron leader had asked permission to accompany him to the airport as a greeting and welcome to his visit to the country.
