FTA Director General: On the Golden Jubilee of Our Armed Forces, We Recall the Values of Unity and Cohesion

His Excellency Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), affirmed that marking the anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces under one flag on 6 May each year is an important occasion to commemorate a significant national milestone that is deeply valued by our nation. It is a day on which we recall the values of unity and cohesion, as the unification of the Armed Forces represented a strategic step that strengthened the Union’s journey and established an integrated national defence system with the highest levels of efficiency and coordination across all military units, characterised by effectiveness and rapid response in carrying out military missions.

His Excellency said: “Our celebration of the Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years since the unification of the Armed Forces, comes at an important stage in our modern history, as our wise leadership continues its noble efforts to shape a more prosperous future based on innovation and sustainability across all fields. This renews our commitment to continuing the journey of giving, as our Armed Forces have contributed over five decades to safeguarding national achievements, preserving the nation’s security and stability, and continuing their pivotal role in reinforcing the foundations for advancing towards new horizons of comprehensive development in the next phase, within a safe and stable environment.”

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Mulla added: “This occasion embodies the insightful vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow Founding Fathers, aimed at building a unified national force to strengthen the pillars of the Union. This was achieved through institutional efforts to unify the Armed Forces under one command and a shared military doctrine, moving the UAE from a stage of multiple military formations to a highly efficient

integrated defence system. This contributed to building a modern military institution in line with the highest international standards, making it a symbol of national unity and the strength and stature of the state, with its advanced capabilities. Its role is not limited to protecting the nation’s security and safeguarding its borders by land, sea, and air, but extends to supporting humanitarian and relief operations and contributing to peacekeeping.”
