Authorities issue warnings as unstable weather brings rain, dust and reduced visibility
The UAE is bracing for one final wave of unstable weather, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and possible hail expected through Friday, March 27, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said. Authorities have issued alerts and urged caution, particularly in Abu Dhabi, before conditions begin to improve from Saturday, with clearer skies and cooler temperatures forecast. Here’s a look at how the UAE manages the weather today:
Sharjah, Ajman bus services suspended: RTA
Dubai’s RTA has said that it is suspending bus services to Sharjah and Ajman temporarily starting today at 7pm due to weather conditions and water accumulation on roads.
“Our teams are currently working in coordination with the relevant authorities to resume services as soon as possible,” it added.
Rain forecast for tomorrow
The National Center of Meteorology expects tomorrow’s weather to be partly cloudy to cloudy with some cumulus clouds, with heavy rain falling over most areas of the country at intervals, and a drop in temperatures.
The center stated in its daily weather report that the winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly at 15 to 30 km/h, reaching up to 60 km/h. The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf, especially with clouds. The second high tide will occur at 08:05 and the first low tide at 15:02. In the Sea of Oman, the sea will be rough, especially with clouds. The first high tide will occur at 18:26 and the second high tide at 05:10. The first low tide will occur at 10:55 and the second low tide at 23:56.
Do this, not that, says Dubai Land Department
As we deal with unstable weather, Dubai Land Department offered some tips on staying safe. It said on social media:
- Close all doors and windows securely
- Clear the internal rainwater drains
- Remove loose tools and equipment from balconies
- Wear appropriate protective gear when going outside
- Stay away from beaches and open areas
- Keep children and pets indoors
- Avoid walking near trees and utility poles
UAE temperature hits 35.6°C
The highest temperature recorded across the UAE today was 35.6°C in Al Jazeera B.G. (Al Dhafra region) at 4.15pm UAE local time.
Meanwhile, the lowest temperature this morning was 12°C at Jais Mountain (Ras Al Khaimah) at 06.15 UAE local time.

Sharjah Police urge public to remain indoors
Sharjah Police have urged the public to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel amid the current adverse weather conditions affecting parts of the emirate.
Speaking on the “Direct Line” programme on Sharjah Radio and TV, Brigadier Dr Jassim Mohammed bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, official spokesperson for Sharjah Police, advised residents to prioritise their safety as unstable weather continues.
“We advise people to avoid going out and to stay at home until weather conditions improve,” he said.
The advisory comes as heavy rainfall and strong winds continue to impact visibility and road conditions across parts of the UAE.

Sharjah Police announce temporary closure of road
Sharjah Police announce the temporary closure of Al Ezwah Street (Suhaila) in Al Dhaid city.
The closure affects traffic coming from Ras Al Khaimah towards Al Manama, and from Al Dhaid towards Masafi. This is due to rainfall and flowing water in the Suhaila area.
Drivers are advised to be careful, use alternative routes during the closure, and stay away from valleys and dams where water is flowing, for their safety.
Sharjah road closes temporarily
Sharjah Police have announced a temporary closure of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street in both directions, from Al Madam City to Fujairah, due to heavy rainfall and valley runoff.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, stay alert, and use alternative routes during the closure period.

Stalled cars cleared: Sharjah deploys recovery vehicles
Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) has confirmed that it is actively managing the effects of the current low-pressure system through a comprehensive operational plan, ensuring efficient field performance and rapid response for the public.
As part of these efforts, SCM has deployed 20 recovery vehicles to tow stalled cars and assist in clearing roadways. The initiative aims to protect property, maintain smooth traffic flow, reduce congestion, and keep key roads accessible for both residents and field teams.
