Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Fujairah is all set to host the Fujairah Equestrian Championships in December featuring more than six hundred horses.
The 2024 edition of the Fujairah Equestrian Championships will feature the 9th edition of the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship from 19th to 21st December, the second edition of the Fujairah Dressage Championship on 22nd December and the second edition of the Fujairah Jumping Championship, a “CSI3” competition from 27th to 29 December.
The championships, held in line with enhancing and diversifying the equestrian activities in the Emirate, are organised by the Higher Committee of Fujairah Equestrian Championships and will be held in the Fujairah Fort Arena.
While the Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship will be held under the supervision of the Emirates Horse Society (EHS), the Dressage and Jumping Championships will be held under the supervision of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF) and the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), respectively.
Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Higher Committee of Fujairah Equestrian Championships said, “The Fujairah Equestrian Championships, held under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, aim to elevate equestrian activities in the Emirate while celebrating and preserving the rich cultural legacy of equestrianism.
“Furthermore, the championships seek to inspire and instil a deep appreciation for this heritage in future generations. The Fujairah International Horse Championship will feature 300 horses in 18 rounds across six categories, and the show jumping event will feature nine classes across three days, with the Grand Prix competition on the last day.”
Dr. Al Zeyoudi added, “Our goal in organising the dressage championship is to establish a platform in Fujairah where riders from across the country can demonstrate their mastery of equestrian techniques, competing to showcase their exceptional skills and abilities in horse training.”
Furthermore, he said that the Fujairah Equestrian Championships include various equestrian events that promote fairness, safety, and enjoyment, enhancing Fujairah’s status on the international equestrian map.
The entries for the Fujairah Dressage Championship are through the official portal (https://portal.uaeerf.ae/) of UAEERF, and the participants for the Fujairah Jumping Championship must confirm their entry through FEI (entry.fei.org) or their respective national federations.
The entries for the jumping championship are open until 19th December. Fujairah Equestrian Championships also offer free entry to the public grandstand for equestrian enthusiasts.
