And expert tips on how to navigate driving in unclear weather
We generally couldn’t be happier that temperatures are cooling down in the UAE. But sometimes with temperature drops, comes a little bit of unstable weather.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) and Dubai Police have both issued warnings to residents and drivers in the city.
The NCM has issued a critical advisory for motorists in the UAE regarding potential fog formations that may affect driving conditions early Monday morning.
In a statement posted in the early hours of Monday November 4, the government body highlighted the likelihood of significantly reduced horizontal visibility, which could plummet at times in certain coastal and inland areas until 9.30am.
As a precautionary measure, Dubai Police have emphasized the importance of safe driving practices during this period. The reduced visibility caused by fog can lead to hazardous driving conditions, increasing the likelihood of accidents.

Authorities recommend that motorists maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, use low-beam headlights, and avoid sudden manoeuvres. And while you might be tempted to switch your hazards on during particularly dense conditions, that’s a big no-no.
In light of these warnings, the NCM encourages drivers to stay informed about weather conditions and to plan their journeys accordingly. Fog can develop quickly, so being aware of real-time updates is crucial for safe navigation.
As the UAE experiences varying weather patterns, particularly during this transitional season, road safety is essential.
