Red Sea Tragedy: Three Pakistani Nationals Killed in Houthi Attack on Commercial Vessel

Three Pakistani citizens were killed in an attack by Houthi rebels on a vessel in the Red Sea, the nation’s foreign minister said on Wednesday.

“Three Pakistani nationals have lost their lives and one has sustained injuries in the incident,” minister Ishaq Dar posted on X, a day after Yemen’s coastguard confirmed Houthi strikes on a vessel killed at least six people off the country’s coast. 

“Pakistan strongly condemns the Houthi attack on a non-combatant commercial vessel. Such attacks endanger innocent lives, constitute a violation of international law, and pose a serious threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security, and the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea,” Dar said on X.

“We are in contact with the relevant Saudi authorities, as well as the internationally recognized Government of Yemen, to ascertain further details of the incident and the circumstances surrounding it,” he added.
